Recent methods for recovering nonlinear dynamical invariants from a sequence of event timings are considered. The analysis is focused on two dynamical invariants: nonlinear forecastability and correlation dimension. The methodology involves geometric reconstruction of the underlying dynamics through the inter-event intervals.
