Radial wave functions for the Cornell (Coulomb plus
linear) potential describing quark-antiquark interaction are
approximated with the help of power-law substitution and explicit
summation of the leading constituent WKB series. In contrast to
the conventional WKB method, our approach reproduces the correct
behaviour of the wave functions at turning points and at the
origin.
Key words:
radial Schrödinger equation, Cornell potential,
WKB series, approximate radial wave functions
